This is a photographic "love letter" to the FIAT Nationals, where FIAT Clubs from all over Australia meet for an annual get-together of FIAT fun and frivolity. With 120 pages of photos from the original 1964 FIAT Nationals right through to modern times, this book has been curated by Tony Studans, long-time FIAT Nationals competitor-turned event photographer. The book contains rare photos taken in the 1960s/70s/80s, long before digital cameras, when not so many photos were taken. From 1997, when Tony first used a 1.3MP Kodak DC-120 at the FIAT Nationals in Dubbo, the photos improve in quality in both cameras and lenses. But, no matter what the technology was used, you cannot go back and re-take these photos.....they are a ransom against time, a permanent record of the great times enjoyed during this fabulous era. Many thanks go to other photographic contributors from other state FIAT Clubs, because just one photographer can't be in more than one place at any time. So, if you even attended even just one FIAT Nationals, this book is for you There will be many memories triggered, and stories retold - perhaps truthfully this time, perhaps not. The book contains honour rolls of competition winners for reference, and lots of photos of the people who are the real stars of the FIAT Nationals ..... but there are also lots of photos of great cars, a few "whoopsie" moments, but all contribute to massive buzz that is the FIAT Nationals.
